Automate by describing it.

Building an automation by hand means dragging nodes and wiring steps yourself. Connect Claude to an automation platform like n8n and you describe the outcome you want in plain English instead, and Claude assembles the workflow for you.

Stop building nodes. Start describing outcomes.

For most people, wiring an automation platform by hand is where a good idea dies. Connecting Claude to it changes the job entirely: you describe what you want to happen, Claude assembles the workflow, you review it, then switch it on.
You stop being the person who wires the automation. You become the person who describes it.

Connect once. Describe forever.

01

Connect the platform

From Claude's settings, browse connectors, search for the automation platform, and authorise the connection.

02

Describe an automation

Chasing overdue client payments, keeping a CRM current without manual entry, a weekly report, or follow-ups that fire automatically.

03

Review before activating

Claude drafts the workflow and explains each step. Nothing runs on live data until you review and switch it on yourself.

04

Start with one

Pick whichever automation solves the most annoying recurring task first, get it running, then come back for the next.

The payment-chasing automation
Build me an automation that chases overdue payments. Trigger: check my invoicing tool daily for anything past due. For each overdue item, draft a polite reminder and log that it went out. If more than 14 days overdue, flag it to me instead of another automated nudge. Show me the workflow before activating.

What it still gets wrong.

i.

Review every workflow before switching it on

Nothing should touch live client data or send a real message without a human checking it first.

ii.

Duplicate checks matter

Ask explicitly for de-duplication logic in CRM automations, or records multiply fast.

iii.

Menu labels shift between updates

If a setting doesn't match exactly what's described here, look for the nearest equivalent.
