Stop prompting. Start looping.

A normal prompt stops the moment Claude answers, so you're the one checking the work. A loop is a standing agent that runs on a schedule, grades itself against a goal you set, and reports back. Four loops you can copy for a real estate practice.

A prompt answers once. A loop keeps working.

A loop needs four parts: the job in plain language, a goal it can grade itself against with real numbers and dates, a schedule, and somewhere the report lands. The catch most people miss is that a vague goal like 'keep the portfolio healthy' can't be checked, so the agent has nothing to measure and the report turns to noise.
Your goal has to be something the agent can grade itself against. Use numbers, dates, and thresholds.

Four loops. Copy and adapt.

01

Operations, weekly

Reviews client activity across the week and reports only what crossed a threshold: overdue payments, renewals due, unassigned maintenance.

02

Strategy, monthly

Measures a portfolio against target criteria and flags where reality is drifting from plan.

03

Acquisition, daily

Filters new listings against a buy box and surfaces only the ones worth a second look.

04

Financing, monthly

Compares current rates against existing loans and flags where refinancing is worth acting on.

The operations loop
You are my operations manager. Every Friday, review activity across my client portfolios for the past week. Flag only items that cross these lines: [thresholds]. Send me the 3 to 5 highest-leverage actions for the coming week, with the next step attached.

What it still gets wrong.

i.

A loop needs data connected to see anything real

Without a connected source it has nothing to check, so it guesses. Connect the source before writing the loop.

ii.

One-off questions don't need a loop

Save loops for recurring work with a goal you can put a number on.

iii.

Start with one

The easiest first loop is the one where the rule for what matters is already in your head.
